FIRE SAFETY RISK ASSESSMENT

Fire Safety (Scotland) Ltd. is able to provide a comprehensive, compliant, cost effective fire safety risk assessment carried out via a nationally accepted proven methodology.  The model used has been designed, adapted and evolved through experience and is based on a British Standard publication which fully complies with the new legislation.

The fire safety risk assessment document covers all that is required from the ‘Dutyholder’ and the 'Responsible Person' for compliance with the Fire (Scotland) Act 2005 and the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
Part of Fire Safety (Scotland) Ltd. commitment to best practice is the provision of a clear and prioritised 'Action Plan' as part of the fire safety risk assessment to aid compliance.  A fire safety policy and an emergency fire action plan can also be prepared as part of the fire safety risk assessment procedure.

A fire safety risk assessment is not just about complying with the law, it brings real benefits in terms of minimising the chance of a fire occurring and more importantly, someone being injured or killed as a result of a fire.

The Association of British Insurers press release March 06
Profits going up in smoke – fire now costs business over £2 million every day.

"Fire is burning into the profits of British businesses at a record rate according to figures released today by the ABI (Association of British Insurers). The cost of business fires in 2005 for the first time ever topped £2 million every day.
During the year insurers paid out £790 million in commercial fire claims – up 60% on 2004. In addition, business interruption claims following fire damage, at £220 million, were the highest since 1997. Insurers expect one in every hundred businesses to make a fire – related claim this year, making fire the main cost –driver for commercial property insurance."

Also, remember that around 75% of businesses never recover from a fire.

Fire Safety (Scotland) works in partnership with all its clients to ensure the fire safety risk assessment is suitable and sufficient and to this end it will also liaise with enforcing authorities and other interested parties to ensure that the fire safety risk assessment is complete and acceptable.
